The Tribunal

Production Designer & Lighting Gaffer

The Tribunal is a 300K indie feature shot entirely in Cincinnati, OH. I was brought in for this unusual combination of positions for my graphics and strong creative lighting background. My involvement with the project as Production Designer started six weeks before production where I helped hire and manage a five person art department supervising set design, wardrobe, prop creation and rentals. Also met with a lead carpenter and with the director, designed our studio sets. One of the biggest challenges was organizing all the minutiae needed scene by scene and making sure all props were good to go on the day needed.

I also served as Lighting Gaffer, specifing the 3 ton electrical lighting package for 17 days of shooting, the hiring and managing of a four person grip/electric crew. At one point we had a roof full of 4K and 6Ks shooting through the stain glass windows of the 110 year old catheral.  In conjunction with Director, Marc Lief, I was responsible for all day to day creative lighting decisions on set. The combination position during production was a challenge but, we got it done.
