Gee, Jefferey & Partners - "Festival of the New: without art......"
Director of Photography

|
35mm series of film spots for
Festival of the
New. These were used as part of an ad
campaign to promote a string of exhibits at the new
Contemporary Art
Center in Cincinnati. Challenge was to create an artless stark feel
to these ordinary objects. My favorite in the series was the light bulb.
The light had to be nimbly lifted into its "chandelier position then a
metal bar had to hit the swinging target exploding the bulb. This took a
few takes as well as goggles, glass barriers and a quick lighting
change.

Miami University - "Only at Miami"
DP/Cam/Director

|
High -def
shoot for a fast paced music video styled spot for Miami University touting their large
minority student population as a draw for diversity minded potential
students. Created a fashion runway set in WCET's Studio A. Helped
choreograph moves & coach speaking parts in my capacity as
Director. Aired locally and on MTV. |

Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing Authority- "You're Home"
DP/Camera Operator

|
Series of spots shot of new city housing complexes. Designed
to convey Cincinnati's new approach to creating affordable low-income public
housing. Shot to give a cozy warm feeling and sense of community. Small size
of rooms made shooting a challenge to create a feeling of space. Jib work by
Paul Kremmer. |

Gilkey Windows - "Fall Campaign"
DP/Camera Operator

|
Shoot for Gilkey Windows. The challenge was to showcase
their windows with talent delivering lines in each shot to a moving camera.
Pulled off a balanced lighting ratio inside/outside without any ND gel or
reflections. A perfect location helped with lots of green foliage out every
window. Chose shooting order for day by charting sun positions and avoiding
it in windows. Shot outside scenes early morning and recreated our sun with HMI's.
Tight spaces in kitchen & living room were handled with mirrors
redirecting large HMI instruments.

JP Flooring -
DP/Camera Operator

|
Spot for JP Flooring shot in their
cavernous showrooms in West Chester. Two day shoot to capture for this first
time video client how much they have to offer. Had to plan shoot to
work around large open windows at one end of showroom and knowing we'd be
shooting into the night as the sun sets early in the winter. First day on
dolly, 2nd day was devoted to Camate. Jerry Cummins did a great job on those
shots.

Easy Spirit- "Once a Year
Sale-2002'"
DP/Camera Operator

|
35mm spot for Easy Spirits
"Once a Year Sale". Balloons were shot atop a high hill in a mid-town park.
As we started to set up, our beautiful blue skies and sun disappeared.
Fighting the increasing cloud cover using a blue grad we managed to get a
semblance of a blue sky with Kevin's masterful hand in the transfer. The
blue balloons for some reason were popping on a 4:1 ratio to yellow. Decided
to let all the balloons go as a final shot. Made my best guess with wind
direction and number of pennies as weight to stabilize & slow balloons as
they shot from beneath lens away in distance. It worked then we flew
off to the studio for green screen work the rest of the afternoon. Used a dutched head to add a Z-axis of movement to shoes for a floating effect as
they passed over the balloon backgrounds. Spots aired in over 50 markets. |
|
16mm in studio tabletop shots of evening shoe wear shot on a moving jib.
Footage fit into pre-existing footage of female shoe models in a downtown
nighttime urban setting. Jib work by Gerry Cummins. |

|
16mm spots - shot in studio on a rotating 4x4 platform. Moving shadows with
camera moves created a dynamic feel to these static display shots. |
|
Created outdoor scenes in studio with rented sky backdrops and bags of sand
and rock. |

|
35mm spots - shot in studio. One long running dolly of the sidewalk.
Positioned sod to either side, used flowers, weeds, and fencing as off
camera gobos to create moving shadows to complete the illusion of a real
sidewalk. Shoes were shot separately green screen with same key light angle.
Using greened dowel rods on a variable speed turntable along with a z-axis
tripod head to give a floating feeling to the shoes as they drifted in
and out of the frame on overlapping planes of action. |

Thompson McConnell Cadillac-
"The Difference'"
DP/Camera Operator

|
Spots for upscale Cadillac dealership. Shot one day at the
dealership, one day on location in an upscale residential location. Had to
deal with showroom windows, ugly buildings reflecting from across the
street, cramped quarters and too many friends of the dealership wanting to
be in crowd scenes.
|

Cincinnati
Enquirer- "Classifieds'"
DP/Camera Operator

|
Series
of four 15 sec. spots shot in 16mm for the city daily morning paper. VW Bug shot entailed a slow
zoom from wide to ECU of a bug on the windshield. Two zooming shots were
married together in Fire. Another overhead angle required a camera rig
between scaffolding as the car drove underneath. It was a big lighting
challenge with the VW being nothing but one big curved reflector. The
surgery scene was created in a virtual operating room, depicting a a
clueless nurse being replaced in a "heartbeat" by a classified ad. |

YMCA-
"Got to Do it" - Regional spots
Lighting Gaffer

|
Regional spot package for six markets (Cincinnati, Louisville,
Cleveland, Minneapolis, Indianapolis, Dallas). January ad campaign, visually
showcased all of their services, equipment and activities. Lots of lighting
challenges involving walls of mirrors, low ceilings - wide areas of coverage. |

|
A 35mm film spot depicting a
board room setting promoting Kentucky to out of state
business. Shot the governor in a separate setting for an end
tag. This was shot in a basement with a 10ft. ceiling. Aired nationally on CNN & FNN. |
